Egg Results

So far H has has multiple baked goods with eggs in them and french toast. No allergic reactions and no upset stomachs.

I think that we are officially allergy free!!!

We will still avoid peanuts and tree nuts for another year though.

Baby E has had no reaction to me eating eggs either. Yay for eggs!

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

During my pregnancy with Baby E, I craved chocolate. In all forms. I drank hot chocolate daily, ate chocolate bars, and devoured cookies and cakes. As the end of my pregnancy neared, I had to find allergy safe recipes to satisfy my cravings as I wanted to eliminated all dairy and egg products from my diet. That is when I found the blog Food Allergy Mama. If you haven't tried any of her recipes then you are missing out. She has some great ones. My favorite is her recipe for chocolate chip cookies.

Now that baby E is 3 1/2 months old and I am in the midst of a elimination diet I needed to find new ways to get allergy-safe chocolate. Enjoy Life chocolate bars and chocolate chips are a must. But the other day I was craving cookies. First I tried to adapt the above recipe using gluten-free flour and soy and dairy-free margarine. The cookies tasted great (like warm cookie dough) but the texture was all wrong. They were super thin. That is when I remembered the blog Karina's Kitchen (aka the gluten-free goddess). Her recipe for chocolate chips cookies is absolutely amazing. Check them out.

Elimination Diet- Egg Trial

Baby E has been doing great. So I need to try a new food group and see how she does. Next up, eggs. I haven't had eggs since I was about 34 weeks pregnant. I fried up two eggs on Sunday and they tasted great! I had them again on Monday morning too. So far the results are mixed. Baby E has had no acute stomach problems and no additional spit-up, however, her poop was a bit on the runny side the next day. The only thing is that her poop is that way off and on anyway. So no verdict just yet.

Egg Trial

My daughter seems to have outgrown her milk allergy. No reactions, no upset stomachs, and no diarrhea. The only thing is that she doesn't actually seem to like milk. I bought her YoBaby whole milk yogurt only to have her snub it. She likes her coconut milk yogurt much better. She won't cheese in any form either. So for now it is nice to know that she has more food options even if she doesn't like them.

So the next step, eggs. Sunday she has Bisquick pancakes made with real eggs instead of powered egg replacer. No problems yet.
